Before you can be issued a visa, you will need to pay a visit to the consulate in your home country. The visa processing fee is €75 for those applying for long-term visas. While those who are applying for the Short-term visa, you will pay an application fee of €60

Schengen Visa

It is a short-term visa with 90 days duration. This means that you will only be allowed to remain in Germany for 90 days.

  • To start this process, you should visit Germany online visa application website to obtain your visa application form
  • Ensure you fill the application form details properly and ensure you provide the correct details.
  • Check for errors and provide the documents that have been requested. If at some point it is discovered that you provided false or misleading information, your visa application may be terminated
  • Complete filling the form and then pay the application fees or cost involved, and then submit to the nearest Visa Application Centre in your area.

What documents are required to apply?

There are different document requirements and they will differ based on what you are coming to do in the country. The documents and requirements for a student visa will be quite different from that of the person who is applying for a work or visitor visa. However, the general documents required are:

  1. You are required to have a copy of a valid passport
  2. Have a passport photograph of the correct size. The background of the passport should be white
  3. Your international passport must be a maximum of 6 months from expiration.

  7. During the application, you are required to write a detailed statement of purpose explaining why you want to enter Germany.
  8. Evidence to show flight booking indicating the airline, departure, and arrival dates

  • Language proficiency proof

  • A financial support letter from your parents or guardian

  • You will have to submit a biometric fingerprint before submitting your application.
  • Proof to show you paid part or the full tuition fee

For A Business Visa You will Additional Documents Like:

  • Letter of employment or job offer from an employer in Germany
  • The business bank statement of the latest 6 months
  • Income Tax Return (ITR)
  • The business or company will clearly state that they will fully be financially responsible for you during your time in the country.

Visitor visa is for short-term visits, and you are expected to have the following documents:
